Susan is a recent Newark transplant who has been energized by the city’s vibrancy and diversity. She truly believes that Newark has the potential to become a major Northeast art destination. To that end she founded Art Grant Writing to help local artists and small non-profits find much needed funding to bring their projects in the visual and performing arts to fruition.
Susan wants to dis spell the stereotype that Newark is solely a city of poverty, crime, and drugs through her photography. Newark has a rich and varied cultural history and there are endless opportunities to capture this bounty on film. She prefers to work in black and white to better highlight the unique images she is capturing.
