A native of Cape Cod, painter and print maker Beck Lane has been a working artist for over three decades. Having been referred to as “prolific” and “a painter’s painter,” Lane’s canvases are in private collections internationally as well across the US.
Lane’s early work consists of traditional oil portraits taken from antique black and white photographs, but, over the past few years, Lane’s work has exploded in vibrant, new directions. Complex, layered and captivating, Lane has developed a style she calls “von innen”, from within, which explores the construction and deconstruction of painting thru subjects who are tackled from a mental, emotional and visceral level – from the inside out. Her brush strokes are bold, strong, and innovative. She’s has adopted a multi medium mix (oils, aerosols, acrylics, paper pencil, and chalk), the resulting canvases are energetic, pulsating and innovative. Fans and followers passionately describe her work as “the future of painting”.
Lane’s work has been shown in galleries and venues throughout MA, RI, NYC, parts of Europe and Israel. Recently, Lane’s work was included in Fridge Art Fair Miami (2016) thru blu Egg Interiors Gallery. Lane is represented in New York and New Jersey by Rafael Cuello (Art Front Galleries partner) & Jay Luiz at blu Egg Interiors Gallery in North Miami.
