Artfront Galleries is pleased to announce that Dino Gravato has joined our Board of Directors.
Dino Gravato was born in Portugal and immigrated to the US at the age of 4. He attended the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts and completed a program in commercial design at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
Dino became a web designer in 1996. He led the team that overhauled and redesigned the Guggenheim website. He then became a consultant for the Guggenheim for the next 5 years. Part of his responsibilities included creating and coding information kiosks that he installed at specific Guggenheim exhibitions.
Along the way, Dino became interested in discovering the next evolutionary step in the art of paper cutting. He decided to create digital images for stencils and then meticulously cut them by hand. In 2014 Dino began spraying his stencils in public. Before deciding to concentrate his efforts in Newark, his work appeared in major cities such as Miami, Austin, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Honolulu.
Dino participates in Free Art First Friday events on the Lower East Side as well as the LES events. He is also part of an international group that originated in Bristol England called The Secret Society of Super Villain Artists.
