Newark Seen is a powerful photography exhibition presented by Fireworx and St. Clare’s Social Services, featuring the work of 15 emerging local photographers—many of whom are Newark residents navigating housing insecurity.
In a city bursting with visible economic growth, many residents without addresses often feel unseen. Through their eyes and artistry, you’ll witness the City of Newark in a way few ever have.
These photographs are raw, reflective, and undeniably real—capturing survival, resilience, beauty, and belonging.
This is more than an art show. It’s a collective act of visibility, dignity, and truth. This exhibition stands as a public declaration that housing is not just about luxury rentals, it’s about honoring the lives and voices of every person who calls Newark home. Housing is a human right!
Your presence matters. By showing up, you stand beside fellow neighbors who are transforming pain into purpose.
