Artfront Galleries a NJ Nonprofit Corporation is engaged in producing pop-up art galleries using vacant or under used spaces in Newark NJ. Our goal is to revivfy blighted neighborhoods through the transformative value of art while giving underserved populations access to enriching cultural experiences. For the Spring of 2017 we are planning 5 – 6 shows beginning in April under our over arching theme of Urban Evidence.
This is an open call to artists in all visual media to submit work for consideration. We are especially interested in women and Latino/Hispanic artists who we feel are under represented in the established Newark art scene. Our model is to select 70% of the artists locally and 30% from outside the area.
The process is simple. Send images of your work inclduing information on media and dimensions to artfrontgalleries@gmail.com. If selected you will be given detailed intructions on next steps. Selected artists will receive the full support of Artfront Galleries in promoting sales not only during the show but also through our website and Facebook page. The deadline for submission is Friday, March 24th.
