Artfront Galleries will continue its series Urban Evidence II this Fall with an all photography show entitled Urban Outsiders. The show will be located at the Waterfront Recreation Center, 2 Grafton Avenue in Newark. This exhibit will run from September 2 through October 28 with the opening reception on Friday, September 9 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
Urban Outsiders will contrast the images of resident Newark photographers with those taken by photographers from outside the city experiencing it for the first time. It will be up to the viewer to decide which perspective came closer to capturing the “real” Newark. The exhibit will be curated by Susan O’Rourke and Timothy Dingman established Newark photographers and leaders of Artfront Galleries.
Urban Outsiders is one of four anticipated pop-up galleries to be produced Artfront Galleries in conjunction with The Newark Arts Council’s annual Open Doors event. Stay tuned for more information on these dynamic shows as information becomes available.
